DES MOINES , IA (Jan. 16, 2006) - Meredith Corporation has hired Guy W. Hempel as Vice President and General Manager of WHNS FOX-21 in Greenville, SC.
The announcement was made today by Paul Karpowicz, President of Meredith's Broadcasting Group. "We are excited to be able to add someone as strong as Guy Hempel to Meredith Broadcasting," he said. "Guy not only has the experience and knowledge to oversee a station, but has the drive and desire to grow WHNS into one of the best Fox affiliates in the country."
Hempel has been Vice-President of Operations for seven years for Liberty Corporation, where he has been responsible for a group of five stations. Previously, he was Vice-President and General Manager of WAVE TV in Louisville, KY and WTOL TV in Toledo, OH.
His earlier career experience includes stints as Program Director and Producer at stations in Toledo, Davenport, Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
