PORTLAND, OR (October 1, 2008) - Meredith Corporation (NYSE:MDP) today promoted Acting General Manager Patrick McCreery to Vice President/General Manager at KPTV/KPDX-TV in Portland, OR.
“Our Portland duopoly has grown in size and power since Patrick came on board,” said Karpowicz. “He has a solid knowledge of the local market and has demonstrated a superior ability to build and lead an unbeatable team. KPTV grew to be the news leader in the market because of Patrick’s winning strategy. I look forward to him applying that tactic station-wide.”
McCreery joined KPTV/KPDX as Assistant News Director in 2003. He assumed the role of News Director in 2004 and was promoted to Acting General Manager in August 2008. Prior to moving to Portland, McCreery worked for Meredith’s KPHO-TV in Phoenix, AZ. He’s also held other various TV news roles in markets across the country.
