NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 7, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Meredith Corporation (NYSE:MDP; www.meredith.com) announced today that it has named René LaSpina Vice President and General Manager of WSMV News 4, its NBC affiliate in Nashville, TN, effective immediately. LaSpina brings more than 20 years of television station management experience to the position.
"René has an impressive track record of increasing station revenue, as well as success driving share and ratings growth," said Meredith Local Media Group President Patrick McCreery. "She is a strategic leader and focuses on building winning teams. We are excited to have her join Meredith and WSMV News 4."
Prior to joining Meredith, LaSpina served as General Manager and President of WIVB/WNLO-TV in Buffalo, NY. She also held General Manager positions at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, MN; WPTY/WLMT/WJKT-TV in Memphis, TN; WTEN-TV in Albany, NY; and WNEP-TV in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA.

LaSpina received her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania and completed an executive education program at Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business.
